Understanding Ghostwriting

Ghostwriting is a contractual agreement between the client and the writer, who is commissioned to produce a completed manuscript for a one-off fee.

As a ghostwriter, my name does not appear on the book cover, and I do not receive royalties for any subsequent book sales. You, the client, have full control over all publishing rights.

Confidentiality and privacy are paramount, which is why a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) is signed before the writing process begins. This ensures absolute discretion on my part and protects the confidentiality of the collaboration.

How Pricing Works

Pricing reflects the shape of the project—its scope, length, and the level of editorial or research support required. Typical investment ranges include:

Ghostwriting (Nonfiction): fixed project rates by word count (from $10,000 for short books)
Business / Thought Leadership Ghostwriting: from $0.30 per word (scoped per project; may include interviews, research, and citation requirements)
Developmental Editing: from $0.050 per word
Line Editing & Stylistic Enhancements: from $0.045 per word
Copyediting: from $0.035 per word
Proofreading: from $0.025 per word
Proofreading + Light Copyedit: from $0.033 per word
Publishing Guidance (hourly): $120–$200 per hour
Manuscript Evaluation & Feedback: $600–$1,800
